The Dos and Do nots of a Detox Diet?

The Dos during your Detox

  • Aid elimination with Dry Skin Brushing, read our article on how Skin Brushing will benefit your health all round
  • Drink Water (sip rather than gulp during the day)
  • Drink herbal teas or better tisanes such as a piece of ginger or mint in hot water.
  • Drink 1 Green Tea a day
  • Exercise by taking gentle walks either in the country or by the sea
  • Do our Stretch routine daily or Yoga
  • Rest, enjoy read an uplifting book
  • Cat nap if you feel like it
  • Meditate or try and still your mind for periods during the day
  • Have long soaks with Himalayan Salts.

The Do Nots during your Detox

  • Do not detox for longer than 7 days and do not repeat within a month.
  • Do not soldier on if it is plain that it is making you ill.
  • Do not use chemicals around you such as cleaning products, air fresheners etc
  • Skincare – use only natural products such as Organic Apoteke or This Works. Why? It makes sense that whilst you are ridding your body of stored toxins and chemicals that you do not apply them topically during this time.
  • Bodycare – do not use deodorant and especially not anti-perspirants

For a serious detox

  • Do not watch TV (hard one we know!)
  • Do not read a newspaper – they are not always full of gladness and joy
  • If you can do not even think about working, keep the laptop closed or better still leave it at home.
