Lose Weight
You should aim to lose weight through a balanced diet plan and a loss of 2lb a week is the optimum amount. To lose 1lb of fat per week you need to reduce your calorie intake by 3500 which means over 7 days you need to reduce your intake by 500 calories per day.

So, to lose 2lb a week just double up and reduce your intake by 1000. That may be easier than you first think.

  • If you drink alcohol on a regular basis you are consuming empty calories (meaning you are gaining no nutrients just calories).
  • A coffee latte with full fat milk is 300 calories.
  • If you add a muffin that can add another 200 calories.

So, you can see that you only need to make small adjustments to lose calories. Combine these changes with more activity, if you can’t face the gym aim to walk 30 minutes every day, walk instead of taking the car of bus. Keep moving is key to keeping your body fit and working for you.

Give it up
If you smoke you should try to give it up (not easy we know but it can be done). This will make walking and exercise easier and no not so you can have a ciggie along the way.

Move it!
If your job requires you to sit or stand for long periods make sure that you regularly move around. Take the stairs, not the lift.   Get off or park your car some distance from your place of work and walk.
Any kind of exercise is good for every part of your body inside and out – we all know it and yet most of us ignore it! It’s one of the major things to turn back your age clock.
