beflattered.com LOVES

The beflattered team, all in our 40s, 50s and 60s have tried loads of great products available in the market place. Here's our take on dry and chapped lips and our favourites products to help.

This Works Turbo BalmWe think   takes some beating. Prevention is always better than cure and so at least twice daily application of this super hero is a must to keep dry lips at bay.

With Cocoa Butter has been called the ultimate moisturiser, and has been used to keep skin soft and supple for centuries. Also with Rose Oil the “Queen of oils” which is excellent in skincare for dry, mature and ageing skin. It's rich in antioxidants and is invaluable at soothing red, inflamed skin and strengthening capillaries as well as purifying the skin.

Plus you can keep dry skin away buy brushing your lips with a soft baby toothbrush every day - or once a week at least! This will brush off dead skin cells and rev up lip circulation bringing blood to the surface and stimulate renewal. Don't brush too hard and don't brush if your lips are blleding and any cracks are open. Let them heal over and then start a new plan to keep your lips in kissable condition.

Beauty from Within
We think treating skin from within in imperative. We see this as prevention and insurance for keeping you looking and feeling younger for longer. It’s well known that what you eat reflects in your skin and your lips too – eat junk consistently and your skin will, over time show it. Even if you eat a reasonable diet, the nutrients in food cannot always be guaranteed, so taking a good Multi-Vitamin and Mineral Supplement is good health and skin insurance. Read why here.  For general all round skin care from within we like a good dose of Flax Seed Oil, or chose a good ready made Organic Beauty Oil Complex to take internally every day.

Also Alpha Lipoic Acid with DMAE or Hyaluronic Acid are great supplements to consider taking as they both contain key ingredients involved in the care and maintenance of the skin. Also helpful in the maintenance of brain function and health.

And of course Vitamin C supplements as vitamin C  is needed for every process in the body - and vital for healthy skin and cell production.
