What Causes the Hormonal Changes?

Falling oestrogen levels cause many of the problems experienced at this time.

Hormone changes due to age, affect the amount of collagen and elastin that is underneath the surface of your skin. Your collagen levels decrease, which causes the skin to sag and lose elasticity. The number of fibroblasts responsible for new skin cells slows down and the cell renewal process is on go slow too.

Thyroid problems due to the hormone Thyroxin can mean that your skin may be affected because of the skin’s inability to sweat. This can cause breakouts, flushing and thickening.  In this instance you  should go to see your GP.

We are all different and one woman's pleasure is another woman's poison and so you may need to try a few things before you find your saving grace.
